Girls Wknd 2011

Don't be scared by our beauty: it's just face masks ;)
*I had pictures of other family members in thier scary masks, but at their request I won't publish them on the blog ;) *

New rain coat and boots from Von Maur for his birthday from Aunt Darcy

This weekend I traveled with my sister to my aunt's lake house. We met my mom, step-grandma, and aunt there. Friday night we just relaxed, played cards, and hung out. Saturday we spent the entire day (9am-7pm) shopping in Ft. Wayne. We all found lots of great deals! We are thinking our next girls weekend needs to be a two-day shopping spree. We also did facials and foot masks Saturday night. My aunt introduced us to this store, Lush, inside Macy's. You get to pick out soaps and they cut the size to your liking. They also have face and foot masks made up of fresh fruits and vegetables. OMG...this stuff is amazing!!! If you haven't ever tried it, you can check out their website online at http://www.lushusa.com/. My favorite soap scents are Honey I Washed the Kids and Sea Vegetable. Then, on Sunday, we packed up and headed home. Each year we do one girls getaway. Last year it was a spa weekend. We are thinking we need two girls weekends this year though, so we are planning one for the summer :)

Weekend Wrap Up

Playing on my workbench
Daddy and Crew yelling "Go Bears!" Crew also started saying "football" once we kept watching it. He would say "more football" when it went to a commercial. It was so cute!
Playing on his Sit-n-Spin with his Handy Manny tools, or as he would call them his "Nanny" tools ;)
It is not an exaggeration when I say these "Nanny" tools go EVERYWHERE with us. By everywhere I mean in the bathtub, in the basement, in the crib, in our bed when we watch tv, in the highchair when he eats, and in the car when I take him to daycare. The second he gets in the car from daycare, he automatically says "tools." Needless to say, he's OBSESSED with these things. He can now sing the song too, so I am constantly hearing "jump, jump, jump" and he mimics the tools jumping. Oh, the things kids do ;)
Different day~"Nanny" tools in store!
Adorable little man <3>
Jumping on our ottoman in his Mickey jammies and slippers~such a goofball!
These pictures pretty much sum up our weekend. We had a very laid back weekend, which we definitely needed! Friday night we cooked dinner at home, played with the little man, and watched a GREAT movie. If you have not seen, Life as We Know It, you need to. It was SUCH a great movie~total tearjerker~but LOVED LOVED LOVED it! Matt even really liked it too, and he is quite the movie critic. Saturday Matt went skiing for the day so I cleaned the house and shopped with the parents. Can I just say how grateful I am for my parents? It is so nice to go out and about and mom takes over all responsibilities for Crew from pushing him in the cart to feeding him lunch. Then, we go to Target and my dad picks up the bill for my piled high cart of stuff I had. It is so nice to be pampered (in unexpected ways) sometimes. Saturday night my bffs from high school came over. They played and played with Crew and then we vegged out the rest of the night. Sometimes pizza, wine, and a good laugh is all you need =) Sunday we stayed in and cheered the Bears on from our couch. Despite the loss, we still support our guys and hope to get em' next season! This weekend I am headed to Ft. Wayne for the weekend with my grandma, aunts, mom, sister, and my cousin's girlfriend, Meghan, for our annual GIRLS WEEKEND 2011. We have a fun filled weekend of relaxing and shopping planned. No husbands and no kids for two days sounds great in itself ;) I will miss my two favorite guys, but everyone needs a little away time every now and then. Also, we will be celebrating my mom's birthday this weekend (which is really tomorrow). Can't wait to use our gift we got her (I'll share after she opens it!) Have a great week everyone!

GO BEARS!!!

Well, its been another busy week for us! But, it's already Friday so I can't complain too much. We had a two hour delay today due to the FREEZING temps outside...man is it cold!!! Tonight we are staying in and cooking steaks and watching a movie. I am really looking forward to a low key evening. Tomorrow Matt is headed to MI with several friends to go skiing. He is really looking forward to that. I am planning on having my bffs from high school over for our annual girls night. We are just gonna veg out and chat...something girls do best! ;) Sunday we can't wait to cheer on our Bears!!! We have several friends that have invited us to do different things but we are debating just staying in with the babes and watching it. I'm sure he won't get that into it, but we sure will! Hope everyone has a great weekend! GO BEARS GO!!!!!!!!

Big Boy...brushing his teeth!

Crew's newest kick is brushing his teeth. Grandma Rosetti bought him an adorable stepping stool that he just loves! It seriously is the cutest thing ever. His routine now consists of moving the stepping stool from the corner of the bathroom to in front of the sink, once he is up there, he opens the drawer, gets out his toothbrush and toothpaste, turns on the water, asks mommy to put his toothpaste on, stands there brushing his teeth and putting it under the water every 10 seconds...he brushed last night for a good 15 minutes or so, putting his toothbrush and toothpaste back into the drawer, washing his hands with his new kids soap pump, turning the water off, going over to the towel and drying his hands first, then wiping his face off, then moving the stool back to the corner.
Ok, so some of you are probably thinking why is this so cute? But, I guess as a mommy it just melts my heart that my little baby is growing into a toddler oh so quickly and becoming Mr. Independent. Oh the little things it takes nowadays to make me happy =)

Busy bees!

Crew playing on his new easel on our snow day ;-)
This week has been a busy one! To begin with, Matt and I both started back to school this week. He lucked out and only had one night of class due to the bad weather. I guess you could say I lucked out too because I had the day off from teaching (at my regular job), but then I had to travel to night school all the way over in South Bend. The drive there was a little stressful, but coming home was much easier. I loved my teacher/class. I had this same professor over the summer for a class so I already knew her. She is so sweet and such a great teacher. She is very knowledgeable in my field, so I find myself often asking her questions and in general just having a lot in common to talk about with her. I have another class tonight. Unfortunately I am in two classes, both from 7-10p.m. in South Bend two nights a week, but at least they are late enough that I can come home after work, spend time with my two favorite boys, and then go off to "work" again. I feel like, in general, going back to school is tough in itself, but I can say that I know I choose the right field because every class I take, I seem to enjoy more and more.
This weekend I am headed to Indy to see my bff from college, Lisa. She was supposed to have a housewarming party but decided to postpone it until it is nicer outside. Since we had already made the plans to come down, Crew and I decided we would still go. We have a fun weekend planned of hanging out and shopping. I am in a spending mood and I LOVE Indy malls so this could be dangerous!!! I must be having with drawls since I haven't really shopped since Christmas. My sis and the baby are coming with too to visit her bff from college. It's going to be such a nice getaway!
Hope you all have a great weekend! XOXO

Our view from the house
This year Matt and I went away with 16 other people to a log cabin house we rented for four days in Boyne Mountain, MI. We had SUCH an AMAZING time!!! It was seriously one of the most fun getaways we've had in a long time. We were able to ski both by ourselves and with friends, we all cooked dinners together, had an 80's New Year's Eve bash, played games, danced, and our good friends Kara and Steve got engaged! Actually two of our close friend couples got engaged over the holidays: Liz and Franke, and Kara and Steve. We are so happy and excited for both of them! Overall it was a great trip. The house was amazing from the gorgeous view, to the hot tub on the deck, and the pool and ping pong table in the basement. We are so grateful for such a fun group of people to spend time with. We had such a nice time!

BFFS for over 10 years!
This year we had lots of small get togethers with family and friends for Christmas. Above are pictures from just a few of the events. My cousin, Joanna, and her daughter, Emma, came over to my sister's house for dinner and a gift exchange with the kids. They all had so much fun unwrapping gifts and playning together. I also had my annual mom/daughter Christmas party with my bffs from high school. Allison's mom, Judy, hosted it this year. It is always so nice to get together with these women. We always have a blast!

Oh my godness with this a fun two days!!! We went to my parent's house Christmas morning and had breakfast and opened ALL the gifts. As you can see from the pics, things haven't changed since I was a kid. My parents still spoil us, as well as our kids with tons of gifts. We all love everything so much and appreciate how much they get us. It is so fun too, now as a parent, to watch the kids open things and put things together for them to play with. Sunday we celebrated with my mom's side at my parent's house again. All of her sisters and Papa and Gigi came to celebrate too. We had a great lunch, awesome time opening presents, and of course loved the playing games and visiting with everyone part too :) We LOVE our family so much. Family is SUCH an important thing to us. We are SO SO SO grateful to have such wonderful, loving people in our lives!
