First time sledding!

This weekend we did lots of Christmasy things! :) Friday night we went out to eat with my MIL. Afterwards she and I decided to go shopping and the boys went home. It was so nice to spend some time with her. Saturday Crew and I spent the day at my parents house. My mom and I baked all day while my dad entertained Crew. As you can see from the pictures above, they played outside for most of the day. My dad took Crew on his first sled ride and he loved it! They were so cute together! Despite there being little snow, they still made the best of it :) Saturday night Matt and I had a date night. We went and saw the movie "The Sitter." It wasn't the greatest, but it was fun to hang with the hubby ;) Yesterday I hosted our annual Christmas party with my three bffs from high school and our moms. We were counting yesterday that we think it was our seventh or eighth year of doing it. That's a lot! Man, I feel old! Ha! I always LOVE getting together with them though. Our moms all get along so well too so it's nice to all hangout. Vanessa drew me this year and she got me Michael Kors gloves and a scarf and a cosmetic bag for my makeup business. I loved it! Looking forward to a three day work week! ;) Yay! Hope you all have a great week too!

Homecoming and Parties!

Last week was a busy one! I finished up with grad school for the semester which gives me a nice couple of weeks off. I am down to one year. I think I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Ha! Matt finishes up this week and then he'll be done too. Its been a hard semester with both working full time and attending school so we need these few weeks off. This past week was spirit week at school. I used to never dress up but for some reason this year I really got into it. We had class color day, redneck day, 80's day, character day, and of course orange and black (our school colors) day. Above is a picture of one of the days I dressed up. A few teachers and I, along with some students, were the Wizard of Oz. I am the lion. The kids loved seeing the teachers dressed up. It was hard for them to take me serious all week though! We also had my parents annual Christmas party on Saturday. They always do such a nice job with it. Above is a picture of my MIL, Belinda, and my BIL, Craig at the party. Crew had his first babysitter while we were at the party. Of course everything went great. When I called to make sure bedtime was successful, the sitter informed me Crew popped his head up from under the covers as she was closing the door and said "thanks for watching me tonight." Such a charmer! ;) So glad he uses his manners. He is going to be a heart breaker one day I swear. Yesterday we had a first birthday party we attended for a friend of mine at work. The theme was Dr. Seuss and it was so cute! Above is a picture of Crew before going to the party and then one of him digging through gifts we wrapped Friday night. Hope you all had a great weekend!

Grandpa's Christmas Work Party!

We had a great time at my dad's work Christmas party! Crew was FINALLY not scared of Santa! He went right up and sat on his lap. It was so precious! My family had an awesome day together. I love holiday parties!

Elf On the Shelf and Other Christmas Festivities!

This is the first year we have participated in the Elf On the Shelf extravaganza. My mom bought us one last year but Crew was still pretty little so we waited until this year. The elf appeared the day after Thanksgiving and has stayed since ;) Crew absolutely LOVES him!!! Every night we read the book, every morning we watch the 1/2 hour movie that was on tv, and of course the first thing Crew does when he gets out of bed is he wants to find the elf! It has been so fun for Matt and I too. We love hiding him and helping Crew find him. What a great tradition to have in our family!

This weekend is a busy one for us! Tomorrow night I am going to dinner with two friends I never get to see anymore, Laura and Liz. I love these girls but life has been so busy for us, it seems like I haven't seen them in months. I am excited for some girl time. Saturday night I am supervising our high school's formal winter dance. I have to have 300 hours of supervision for my grad class so needless to say I have been and will be supervising a lot! It's fun though and great experience. Sunday we are off to my dad's work Christmas party with all the kiddos. His work is beyond generous. They provide all families with a full meal, Santa, boxes of candy, and each kid gets to pick out a huge toy. We are so grateful and have such a fun time when we go. We are definitely looking forward to it!

I hope you all have a great weekend!

Our tree all decorated!

Thanksgiving was a huge success! We had a great time with family over the weekend. It was so nice to be able to host it at my house. Friday I spent the day shopping with my dad on our annual Black Friday extravaganza. We got lots of great deals! Saturday we put up decorations and our tree. Yesterday I spent the entire day at my parents baking. My mom and I have a tradition of baking on Sundays when the holidays near. The kids all play while we cook. It's so fun! Hope you all had a nice Thanksgiving! I can't believe Christmas is in less than a month!
